Along the beach road: orange zone
The beach promenades – including Paseo de Velilla – are an "orange zone". Here you only pay in the high season:
- 1 July – 31 August
- At Easter – from the Friday before Palm Sunday (Viernes de Dolores) up to and including Easter Sunday
During those periods, you pay every day of the week from 11 am to 3 pm and from 7 pm to 10 pm. Outside those times – and for the rest of the year – it is free.

In town: blue zone
In the centre of Almuñécar, there is a blue zone all year round, Monday–Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm. You may park for a maximum of 2 hours.

Residents and people working in town can buy an annual pass for 50 € (≈ 373 kr.) plus 0.30 € (≈ 2.24 kr.) per day or a weekly pass for 1.80 € (≈ 13.43 kr.).
The underground car park in front of Playa Tropical
The municipal underground car park beneath Paseo de Velilla is open 24 hours a day all year round. You pay by the minute – the longer you park, the cheaper the minutes become. Tickets are bought at the machine, and card payment is accepted.

Take good care of your ticket: If you lose it and the machine cannot see when you entered, you must pay for a full 24 hours for each day the car has been parked there. A new subscription card costs 8.26 € (≈ 61.62 kr.).
Got a parking fine?
In the blue and orange zones, the fine can often be cancelled immediately at the machine: 7 € (≈ 52.22 kr.) if you lacked a ticket, 3.50 € (≈ 26.11 kr.) if you have exceeded the time limit.
- Press the blue button and select the amount shown on the fine.
- Pay and press the green button.
- Place the ticket from the machine in the pouch along with the fine.
- Put the pouch into the narrow slot in the flap at the bottom of the machine.

The underground car park beneath Paseo de Velilla was originally proposed as a facility with 421 spaces. And this is what the price sign looked like at Velilla and San Cristóbal a few years ago – with different prices than today.
